ICE FISHING SAFARI
Jan 28 2017
Welcome to the 51th Annual Ice Fishing
Safari. It certainly looks like this years
weather for the Safari is more in our favor than last year. Predictions for
Saturday is 25-35° and partly cloudy
with a 10% chance of precipitation which sounds good to me. Last year
the temp and the wind made it
When the Bald Eagle circled over us, as
we were doing the "Right of the Oar", most of us couldn't help but
think it was a sign from those who are no longer with us. They might not have
been with us in body, but
their Spirit lives on.
Again this year we will have both the
scud bucket and the powder room for those that might want to partake. Looks
like there will be about 70-75 in
attendance which is a good number.
The lake had been frozen over but it
went out last night with the warm temps and the east wind. So you might
want to bring your own
ice---lol. You may also want to bring a
lawn chair instead of Tip-Ups. We'll have the second fire going like we did
last year to help stave off the cold.
Don will have the eggs popping first
thing in the a.m. Ms. Piggy will be
with us again this year but Tony Martone has reserved the first dance, .....sorry
many thanks to Vinny for the cover, Jim for the web-site, video and chili, Al
Florio for picking up the rolls, Andy
and Ken for doing the collections and all the cooks especially Don Meteja,
Tony Martone and John Lemke. Also Paul Rasmuesen, Carl Didone ,Tony
Cichetti and John Lemke for working to get the area all set up for the
party. And to all of you who do the
extra things to make this the great party that it is.
We have 6 New Stars and they will be under the
direction of Frank Crognale
William James Morris
Looking forward to seeing you all Saturday
morning---don't forget your Safari Hats .
